PAGESIZES AND "BLEEDS"

---------------------------------

When you submit a comic, it is very important that you don't put any text or important graphics at the edges of the page, as you might risk having some of it cut off. Therefore, the pages needs a few millimeters extra to avoid something like this.

In short: most of our comics are printed in the size 17 x 24 cm, and this is the exact size of the page after it has been cut. That means the pages needs to be a little bigger before doing the cutting: 17,3 x 24,6 cm to be exact. It is important that you keep ALL text/graphics of importance within the cutting line, preferably within 16 x 23 cm. It's not all that important if the edges on your pages only have white lines (like most comic pages do) as we can manually add a few millimeters extra white around the edges by ourselves. But if you're drawing anything that's supposed to fill out the entire page, this is important to avoid important things being cut off, or white lines that's not supposed to be there. Below is a sample of a comicpage that was "bleeding", and how much of it was cut off afterwards:

Remember:

*Pages that shall "bleed" over the edge (like shown above) has to be 17,3 x 24,6 cm.

*Try to keep all important things within 16 x 23 cm.
